WPSA

It is a great pleasure to report that at the Banquet of the 9th European Poultry Conference in Glasgow on 11 August 1994 the Association's Macdougall Medal was presented to Rose-Marie Wegner for her dedicated service to the WPSA. Professor Wegner has been actively involved in the WPSA for more than 40 years and has participated in all nine European Poultry Conferences and, apart from Mexico 91958), all the World Congresses since 1951. She has served as an Associate Editor of the World's Poultry Science Journal and as Secretary of the German Branch since 1972.

At the presentation our President, Dr Piet Simons, paid warm tribute to Professor Wegner who, for the past 10 years, has undertaken the demanding duties of WPSA Secretary and Assistant Treasurer. The membership of nearly 6000 and approaching 50 branches keeps her very busy. Through her dedication, Rose-Marie Wegner helps to ensure the very existence of our organization.
