Are you a highly motivated and talented female student of nuclear related subjects?
If not, do you know of any such students? We have good news for them.

The application process has just opened for women studying Master’s degrees in nuclear science and technology to apply for a scholarship from the IAEA Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme (MSCFP) towards their studies. 

The eligible fields of study include nuclear-related applications to food and agriculture, such as genetic and genomic analyses of animal genetic resources.

Deadline for applications: 11 October 2020

Number of applicants for scholarships per year: 100 women

Duration: up to two years of study and an opportunity to pursue an- internship related to their field of study.

Funding: up to 10,000 euros per year for tuition costs and up to 10,000 euros for living costs based on the costs of living at the university’s location, for a maximum of a two-year period of study.

The MSCFP provides an opportunity for more women to become active players in nuclear field, where they can influence global developments in science and technology, safety and security, non‑proliferation​, At the same time, the nuclear field offers a wide range of creative jobs and continuous learning as well as opportunities for societally meaningful achievements, such as providing clean energy and clean water, or many applications in medicine, industry and agriculture.

The MSCFP was launched by IAEA Director General Rafael Mariano Grossi. The Fellowship Programme aims to help build up gender balanced capacities in national nuclear energy and nuclear applications programmes, including nuclear safety and nuclear security in IAEA Member States. As part of the gender mainstreaming, the programme also aims to contribute to gender parity across the Agency.

The fellowship programme is open to female students from IAEA Member States who have been accepted or are enrolled in a Master’s programme at an accredited university. Consideration will be given to geographic distribution and linguistic diversity, field of study distribution and whether the applicant has received previous support from the IAEA.
