The 2016 World’s Poultry Congress will be held September 5-9, 2016 in Beijing, China. The USA Branch of the WPSA will again award travel grants to attendees meeting the following conditions:

1. The applicant MUST BE A WPSA-USA MEMBER IN GOOD STANDING IN 2015 AND 2016.
2. Applicants must have an oral or poster presentation accepted for the WPC 2016. Abstracts to be submitted via WPC2016 website (http://www.wpc2016.cn/) by February 5th, 2016.
3. The application deadlines and submission procedures will be communicated to WPSA-USA members by January 1, 2016. Travel grants will be up to $1000; the amount awarded to each awardee will depend on the number of requests and their subsequent approval of the WPSA-USA Board.

Nominations are currently being sought for the position of WPSA Vice President: Branch members are encouraged to nominate candidates for the position of Vice President of the worldwide WPSA Board which will be elected at the 2016 WPC. Please submit nominees to the Executive Secretary of the USA Branch (). Sarge Bilgili (Auburn University) is currently serving as a WPSA Vice President.

WPSA-USA Branch will partner with the 2016 Alabama Poultry Nutrition and Milling Seminar and with the 2016 Mid-Atlantic Nutrition Conference: During 2016, the USA Branch of the World’s Poultry Science Association is pleased and proud to cooperate with: The Alabama Poultry Nutrition and Feed Milling Seminar and The Mid-Atlantic Nutrition Conference. The Branch will promote these events and provide assistance where appropriate; the meetings will be listed on the WPSA calendar. The 2016 Alabama Poultry Nutrition and Milling Seminar will be held on April 13-14, 2016 at Lake Guntersville State Park Lodge in beautiful North Alabama. The venue for 14th Mid-Atlantic Nutrition Conference (MANC) will take place north of Baltimore at the Hunt Valley Inn on March 23-24, 2016 in picturesque Hunt Valley, Maryland. Dr. Jan Dirk van der Klis will travel from the Netherlands to give the WPSA-USA lecture, ‘Net Energy System: Merits and Limits in Feeding Commercial Poultry’, on the Poultry Programme of the MANC. Be sure to reserve these dates on your calendars for what promise to be interesting and productive meetings.

WPSA Canada and USA Lecture at the 2016 Poultry Science Meeting: The USA Branch is responsible this year for the selection of a speaker to give the WPSA Lecture at the 2016 Poultry Science Meeting. The meeting will be held at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel in New Orleans, Louisiana on July 11-14, 2016. If there is a speaker that you would like to hear please get you suggestion(s) to anyone (Bob Buresh, Olivia, Bob/Robert Taylor, Curtis, Chris, or me) on the USA Branch Executive Committee.

Investment Advisers and Asset Allocation: The PSA Board has conducted an audit of the investment advice it has been receiving from its current adviser, Morgan Stanley. They have come with up with options which have yet to be finalized. In any event, the Executive Committee of the Branch will review the decisions of the PSA Board and adjust Branch investments as needed. In addition, the Executive Committee has decided to communicate more closely with Morgan Stanley and may consider a shift in the asset allocation of its current investments.
