WCGALP 2022 – Education session

Dear colleagues,

Educating our future animal breeders and geneticists is fundamental to our field.

Among the many excellent sessions discussing techniques and innovations, a session on Education stands out by its focus on the imperative need to train our future leaders and visionaries in our discipline.

The World Congress on Genetics Applied to Livestock Production (WCGALP), to be held in July 2022 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, will organize a session on Education. Papers are now being accepted and are due by January 12, 2022.

***Important: Contribution to this session can be up and above a contribution to one of the other sessions***

Among others, we welcome papers on the following topics:

• The use of experiential learning and instruction.
• Globalisation of the content of the Animal Genetics and Genomics   
• Recruitment of diverse and dispersed (different backgrounds, different geographies) student in the discipline
• Integrating industry experts into instruction in animal breeding and genetics
• Innovations and pedagogy in the ABG classroom
• Overcoming the fear of the quantitative among students in ABG
• How do we find the right balance in education between ABG foundation and current technologies
