I have been working on the INRA Poultry Unit in Nouzilly (France) for 35 years. I completed my PhD in the Agronomic School and University of Paris, in Animal Nutrition. As a scientist, I studied calcium metabolism in hens and mineral nutrition (eggshell quality and fabric). I worked with the Poultry industry on carotenoids, enzyme additives, trace elements and received the DSM international price in Poultry Nutrition in 2011. I coordinated projects on egg quality at national and European level (Eggdefence 2001-04; RESCAPE 2006-09). I have been director of the INRA Poultry Research Unit (2002-2007). I supervised PhD students (18) and many postdocs from Algeria, Chile, Canada, Italy, France, Nigeria, Lebanon, Egypt, Indonesia, Spain, Romania or Ukraine.
I have been involved in the WPSA organisation for more than 25 years: member of the French branch board, of WG4 (chairman for 8 years) on egg quality and WG 2 in Nutrition, president of the European federation and member of the WPSA board (2010-14). Because of my interest in Poultry Science dissemination, I contributed to the organisation of many WPSA symposia as a member of the scientific committee (Egg quality, Nutrition, Welfare, Poultry Mediterranean network) or as a chairperson of the egg quality meetings (1993, 2003 and 2015) and of the European poultry conference (2010). I contributed to the publication of more than 200 papers, book chapters or reviews presented at international meetings and participated to some editorial board including WPSJ. My application aims to reinforce the relationship between European working groups and the Asian-Pacific federation and to favour the involvement of the WPSA board in organisation of international meetings.
